Out of School Hours Care (OSHC)
The Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) program at Glen Waverley South Primary School has been developed to assist families with child care outside of normal school hours. Our programs are designed with working families in mind, ensuring that parents/guardians can continue to work, study or search for employment without concerns about the safety and care of their children.
The program is operated by GWSPS OSHC staff and managed by the School Council with a subcommittee comprising parents of children attending the program, the OSHC Coordinator, OSHC staff members and the Assistant Principal.
We offer a Before School program, an After School program, Vacation/Holiday programs and Curriculum Day/Pupil Free Day programs. Programs can be accessed full time, part time or casually. Throughout all of our programs, the children participate in a wide range of interesting indoor and outdoor activities designed to suit the individual needs of each child.
Our programs are fully registered under the National Child Care Accreditation Council. We are also a registered service for the Child Care Benefit.
|Before School Care||7.00am - 8.45am||$15.00 per session|
Breakfast is served every morning for children who arrive at the program prior to 8.00am. Cereal, toast, milk and juice are available everyday and a cooked breakfast is provided once a week. The children are dismissed from the program at 8.45am. On cold or wet mornings the children are kept inside until the morning bell goes. Foundation children are taken to their classrooms by a staff member.
|After School Care||3.30pm - 6.00pm||$18.00 per session|
Children are provided with an afternoon snack. Our menu is varied and we make every effort to cater for all dietary requirements. Children assist in the planning of the menu and create the weekly menu notice displayed on the OSHC noticeboard. Children have the opportunity to participate in planned activities as well as free play.
|Holiday Program||7.00am - 6.00pm||$51.50 - $62.00 per day|
Our holiday program runs every day of the school holidays at the end of Terms 1, 2 and 3 (excluding public holidays). The January Holiday program is offered every year for 3-4 weeks depending on the start date of Term 1. Children participate in excursions, incursions, craft activities, sports, games, cooking and lots more. Dependent on numbers and at the discretion of the coordinator, the program is also open to community families.
